A great heap of stones rises in the foreground over the place where Achan met judgment after taking devoted things from Jericho. Beneath the stones, a glimpse of costly cloth and treasure recalls the hidden spoil that brought defeat upon Israel at Ai. In the distance, Joshua and the gathered Israelites stand in the valley, witnessing the solemn consequence of covenant disobedience.

The scene comes from Joshua 7, where Achan’s secret theft exposed the whole camp to guilt until the sin was uncovered and removed. The stone mound became a lasting witness in the Valley of Achor, teaching that greed, concealment, and rebellion cannot remain hidden before God. This artwork serves well for teaching on holiness, accountability, repentance, the conquest of Canaan, and the seriousness of obeying the Lord’s commands.
