Description
Israelite craftsmen raise and arrange the layered coverings of the Tabernacle in the wilderness camp, surrounding the sacred structure with curtains, frames, poles, and priestly labor. The sanctuary stands at the center of Israel’s tents, with fabric panels being lifted over its walls and entrance, recalling the detailed instructions given to Moses for the dwelling place of God among His people. The richly hung entrance, bronze basin, upright posts, and carefully handled coverings point to the holiness, order, and covenant worship of the Exodus journey. In biblical context, the coverings of fine linen, goat hair, ram skins, and protective outer layers formed more than a portable shelter; they marked the Tabernacle as the consecrated meeting place where God’s presence dwelt in the midst of Israel.
